A shocked and saddened music industry is reacting to
the sudden death of much-loved Rod McBrien. Rod died
Monday, March 30th, 2009 from heart failure, just as
he was about to start a biopsy procedure to check on
a nodule in his lung area.
Rod's musical odyssey began as a Long Island high
schooler on a trip to the Brill Building. A chance
meet with Stan Vincent and Jim Gribble began a
recording career as writer, musician, singer, and a
member of the Valrays.
He worked as a studio engineer with the best,
alongside Brooks Arthur and at the Allegro Studios.
Rod became a Clio award-winning commercial producer.
Rod was 65, [and is] survived by wife Janet and son
Rod McBrien Jr.
